GSSAPI library compatibility between MIT releases

I was wondering if someone from MIT can make a statement regarding
library/binary compatibility from one release to the next of the
GSSAPI libraries - I won't ask about libkrb5 and related libs.

[I poked around the http://web.mit.edu/kerberos/www/index.html web
site, if it's there, I guess I didn't look hard enough].

If for example, an application is built against 1.2.7, should the same
application work against the 1.2.8 GSS libs without recompiling and 
relinking the app. Does the same hold true between 1.2.x and 1.3.x (or
more generally between any set of releases).

Trying to plan for how we will do our release management going forward.
