And I'd much rather see a solution like this on Unix than extending
the core code.
I think people will find MIT much more interested in working with them
to design plugin APIs than to extend core code.
That said, we're really over worked. There has been one recent rather
unfortunate effort to design a plugin API where an outside contributor
submitted a design for us to review, and we completely failed to do
so. No one has had the time. I'm not sure what to do about this.
