auth_to_local and BUGID 3212

I don't know if this should be posted here or to bugs....

I have a question in regards BUGID 3212 
(http://diswww.mit.edu:8008/menelaus.mit.edu/krb5-bugs/3212) and why it 
was never commited to the tree? 

I ran into a problem when I was doing cross-realm auth with AD. And the
patch listed in the said BUGID fixed the problem with obtaining the client
realm for use within auth_to_local RULE(s).

Any info would be appreciated. thanks
