I asked Pierre for the dictionary file he was using; it is at this link:

That part of the problem is pretty easy to resolve; either filter the 
dictionary file for alphabetical characters only, or stop using the 
system dictionary and always use the built-in word list 
(plugins/kdb/db2/libdb2/test/dictionary).

In his response, Pierre also reported that he gets the test2 hang using 
the built-in word list.  I cannot reproduce this.  Since the hang occurs 
in the recno code, it is not particularly troubling from a Kerberos 
perspective since the recno format isn't used for Kerberos databases.  
But of course it is still problematic for our test suite to hang in some 
environments, so we should figure out what is going on if we can.
