[krbdev.mit.edu #3136] Cannot kinit with AFS password longer than 8 char on RedHat Enterprise 3 UG 4

Tcpdump traces, test case, and login for relevant machine sent to  
Jeffrey Altman.

The same user can klog, and can also use the kinit on MacOS X 10.3.9  
(as well as the Heimdal kinit on OSX.3.9).  I think it's really weird  
that it depends on *both* the key type *and* the platform.
