[krbdev.mit.edu #1584] reduce storage needs for nightly testing results

See if the log files and such can be stored in compressed form, perhaps
with a flatter directory structure.  (Maybe with mod_perl and munged
filenames?)  Don't make it too hard to do grep-type operations on the
server, though.

In their current form, the results take up quite a bit of space, and it
takes a long time to walk the heirarchy.
