Invalid key generation parameters from KDC while trying to change password.

Hi everyone,

I've been able to reproduce my problem on a test system and simplify the failure case. I can also reproduce the error when initializing the KDC database.

When I run:

	kdb5_util create

I get the following error after entering the password for the master key:

kdb5_util: Invalid key generation parameters from KDC while creating principal kadmin/host.example.com at EXAMPLE.COM

Does anyone have any suggestions on this?

Thanks,
Jason

Subject: Invalid key generation parameters from KDC while trying to change password.

Hi everyone,

I just upgraded my KDC from 1.6.1 (RHEL5) to 1.11 (custom-compiled RPM). Logins are working, but I'm the following error when trying to change a password:
Invalid key generation parameters from KDC while trying to change password.

The really weird thing is that I can change host keytabs using "k5srvutil change" without an issue. kadmin and kpasswd refuse to change a password while giving the error message.

Any guidance is welcome.

Thanks,
Jason
