Instead of mod_auth_kerb, you may also want to look at using:
  https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/SHIB2/Kerberos+Login+Handler
which can handle the SPNEGO.

For user/passwords with Kerberos, look at:
  https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/SHIB2/IdPAuthUserPass
  "Kerberos Login Module Specification"

They work well on Linux and use Java, and so should work on the Windows
IDP and are provided by Shibboleth.
