For practical purposes, Douglas's answer is probably the one you should
go by.

krb5 1.10 (due to be released soon) adds the concept of a
collection-enabled credential cache type, based partly on similar work
from other Kerberos implementations and from platform-specific versions
of MIT krb5.  However, it's not integrated with gss_store_cred yet.
