* The gss-sample test application suite is known to not communicate
  with the gss-sample suite in 1.1.x and earlier releases.  This is
  the result of changes to increase functionality; fixes to allow for
  backwards compatibility will occur in a later release.

You need give the full name of the principal:

gss-server asample/win_nt4.kerberos.com

You're the second person this week to have the same problem.  This
usually means there's a broken document somewhere.  What documentation
or FAQ are you reading, so we can get it fixed?
