Oh.  Yeah, unless Gentoo has extensively hacked that version, I think
you're going to have to switch to a different pam-krb5.  It doesn't know
how to deal with password changes during the auth step.

That's the PAM module that mine was based on originally.  It was last
modified in 2000.  My module started with it as 1.0 and is now at version
3.10.  :)
