Question regarding remote KDC

It depends on the program, but it sounds like the gssapi mit libs for sasl
are not installed (probably the cyrus version). What program and platform
are you running.

Doing a tcpdump/snoop of port 88 traffic might give you a clue as to what
is doing what.
