Incompatibility between MIT kprop and OpenSolaris kpropd ?

I have a OpenSuse master kdc and like to use a OpenSolaris slave kdc. When 
setting up the kprop communication I get

Gerneric remote error: Wrong principal in request.

After checking the documentation I found that Solaris requires a kiprop/fqdn 
principal whereas the default MIT kprop client sends a host/fqdn principal. 
Is there a way to make it work (e.g. force kprop to use the kiprop/fqdn 
principal )?
