incompatibility between kerberos and openssl

hello everybody.
i'm trying to compile an apache module for kerberos authentification for an
apache-ssl.
the problems is, there seems to be an incompatibility in compiling something
against openssl and kerberos.
i know i've read that in some other applications CHANGES lists.
are there any hints and tricks to do to avoid that incompatibility?
