laptop and kerberos

Hello,

I was wanting to learn kerberos so installed it on my laptop. 
Unfortunately I could not find some step by step basic test
instructions to test my installation.  Actually in inetd.conf I have
setup kerberos for insecure mode so atleast I can telnet into it as
earlier.  Looks like kerberos overwrote my usual telnetd, ftpd?

But still when I telnet to laptop it tries to locate KDC and takes
long time to get back.  I have set telnetd -a none.

Let me know if you guys need any info.
