As suggested, I linked kadmind against libefence - which makes it stop
really early:

(gdb) run
Starting program: /root/krb5-1.3.4/build/kadmin/server/kadmind
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
[New Thread 1076303776 (LWP 19400)]

Electric Fence 2.1 Copyright (C) 1987-1998 Bruce Perens.

ElectricFence Aborting: Allocating 0 bytes, probably a bug.

Program received signal SIGILL, Illegal instruction.

Could somebody help me out?

Thanks,
Michael
