Well, I seem to have stumbled around until I fixed it:

Your question about another Kerberos installation prompted me to poke 
around, and the machine has the Java 1.4.2 SDK on it, which includes a 
kinit program.  I don't know if that was bothering Leash or not, but I 
redid my path so the MIT stuff came first.

Then I noticed the "Upper Case Realm Name" option in Leash, which was 
checked.  The realm I'm trying to get to is lower case.  I unchecked 
this option, and Leash was able to get KRB5 tickets right away.

So...newbie mistakes on my part.  Thanks for the help.
