Dear all,

quoting the install guide in the krb51-3.3 distribtion from MIT

"The kdc.conf file contains KDC configuration information, including
defaults used when issuing Kerberos tickets. Normally, you should install
your kdc.conf file in the directory /usr/local/var/krb5kdc. You can override
the default location by setting the environment variable KRB5_KDC_PROFILE."

am attempting to install a krb5 mit kdc on a freebsd (5.2.1-RELEASE) host

the /usr/local/var directory does not exist on the freebsd system

where (by convention or otherwise) should this file be located ??
