Default ticket lifetime

What do I need to configure on Linux KDC to have longer default tickets 
(ie. the lifetime when I use kinit without parameters)?
Now an example user has maximum lifetime of 12 hours but is always 
issued 10 hours only. Our site's krbtg is 1 day.
