kdc slowness recently - delayed login authentication

I think you intended to send this to a Stanford-specific group.  Anyway,
we've had intermittant hardware problems with one of our Kerberos servers
that should now be fixed; if you rsystem was configured to look at it
first for some reason, that would be the problem.
