OS X 10.3 and kerberized applications

I've a system running Panther. I've edited the Kerberos config file
to suit our needs, and I can obtain tickets using kinit or the GUI.

So far, so good.

Is there a trick to get the ssh client to use Kerberos as the
authentication method? I'm suspecting issues with the hostname
being appended with .local, but I'm not sure where to go looking
for this.
