kerberos 5 login (krb 5.1.2-5)

I've successfully built the source for login.krb5 (found in src/appl/bsd)
for a handful of systems. Each has worked successfully, with one exception.
This is the Sequent 4.4.4 machine I mentioned earlier.

# uname -a
DYNIX/ptx t2d1seq444 4.0 V4.4.4 i386

The binary builds and executes - but hangs...

# ./login.krb5 ecsbuild
Password for ecsbuild:
login: Cannot contact any KDC for requested realm while getting initial credentials

If I try to log in as a user who has a home directory that is not mounted, I get:

# ./login.krb5 jheyman
Password for jheyman:
login: Cannot contact any KDC for requested realm while getting initial credentials
No directory /xxxxxx/homes/j/jheyman!
Logging in with home = "/".

I chmod'd the binary so that it matched the /bin/login permissions:

# ls -l login.krb5
-r-sr-xr-x 1 root bin 1190918 Jul 16 14:56 login.krb5

The /etc/krb5.conf file is the identical file that has been used successfully
for all the other platforms.

# top
shows login.krb5 utilizing 98% CPU - but load isn't showing 100% CPU
utilization, so it must be wait stated. Accumulating time though.

Any pointers/suggestions/ideas would be great.
