2. The Secret Life of Passwords
-------------------------------------------
This rather long but very interesting NY Times article<http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/19/magazine/the-secret-life-of-passwords.html> discusses what our passwords mean to us. Some people describe them as cryptic poetry, some passwords hold meaningful memories or reminders, some are playful, others dark and serious.
It’s a fascinating read if you have the time<http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/19/magazine/the-secret-life-of-passwords.html>.

3. February is Data Privacy Month
----------------------------------------------
Educause.edu<http://Educause.edu> is the sponsor of Data Privacy Month<http://www.educause.edu/focus-areas-and-initiatives/policy-and-security/educause-policy/community-engagement/data-privacy-month>, a month-long effort to support universities and colleges with raising awareness of data privacy issues.
The month started off with Data Privacy Day<http://staysafeonline.org/data-privacy-day/landing/> on January 28th. The day reminds us that we can all do our part to help ensure our community is respectful of privacy, safeguarding data and enabling trust.
View the free webinar recording<http://www.educause.edu/events/educause-live-power-privacy-and-passion-build-something-better> of “The Power of Privacy and the Passion to Build Something Better,” that was held on January 20th by Michelle Dennedy, vice president and chief privacy officer at McAfee.
