Hi William:
I apologize for the confusion I may have introduced.  There is no  
meeting today due to the overwhelming response that this meeting date  
and time was inconvenient.   I should add that it is very gratifying  
that you all were interested enough in attending that you took the  
time to request that I reschedule the meeting.

I will follow this email with a proposal for a new time for the Image  
Tools SIG meeting.

Subject: [Image-tools] Next meeting of the Image Tools SIG - Thursday,
	March 15

Mark your calendar.  The next meeting of the Image Tools SIG will be  
on Thursday, March 15, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM.  The meeting will be  
held in the N42 Demo Center.

Here is a map indicating the location of building N42: http://

The meeting topic will be metadata.  We'll open with a presentation  
by Ann Whiteside, the Head of the Rotch Library.  Ann was an editor,  
on behalf of the Visual Resources Association, of the recently  
completed book, Cataloging Cultural Objects: A Guide to Describing  
Cultural Works and Their Images.  The primary focus of the manual is  
"describing, documenting, and cataloging ... art and architecture,  
including, but not limited to paintings, sculpture, prints,  
manuscripts, photographs, built works, installations, and other  
visual media."  (there is a link to this document on the VRA home

This meeting is open to anyone interested in the subject, so feel
