Members of the iMobileU Community:
Modo Labs is pleased to announce a Release Candidate version of our Kurogo Mobile Web Framework. This project, based on the MIT Mobile Framework, allows campuses and institutions the ability to easily create rich mobile sites that support mobile devices from feature phones all the way to iOS and Android devices. It includes a modular code base that enables developers to enhance and extend existing modules and create new modules to suit their needs. The project includes modules for People Directory, News, Calendar, Links, Maps, Video, Emergency and External Content.
The release candidate version includes many improvements from the previous beta and solidifies the configuration and directory structure. It also includes an overhauled desktop web browser administration console in addition to the ability to edit configuration files directly. Please see all the changes in the included CHANGELOG.
There are several additional features planned before the final release, including additional capabilities in the administration console, additional documentation and further refinements. We welcome your feedback. We are also pleased to announce a preview of our iOS native application. You can view its progress on the now public github repo at https://github.com/modolabs/Kurogo-iOS. Keep in mind that the iOS application is still going through rapid changes and various aspects of the application and corresponding REST API will be changing.
Kurogo is offered under the MIT license and is available free of charge. Institutions wishing training or support can contact sales at modolabs.com.
