This is off-topic, but iBooks' implementation is not straight from Delicious Library. Wil Shipley was pretty vocal about this when iBooks was announced: http://twitter.com/wilshipley/status/8289716016.

Also Mike Matas is a UI designer, not a developer. He designed Delicious Library, and Wil Shipley did most of the development. And Delicious Library didn't get killed by anything. It's still very successful.
