Derek:
1.Our intensions for creating multiple accounts for webkit vs. non-webkit was due to our distrust regarding the accuracy and validity of the google analytics mobile device detection. When this process started, Google Analytics' mobile support was not sufficient for our needs and therefore we wanted to ensure that webkit vs. non-webkit statistics could be gathered.
2. We have integrated the async version in our "future" branch and it should be part of the main code path in the near future.
