Dear Professor Fitzgerald,

I am chairing a committee charged with hiring a tenure-track assistant professor in the history of science and technology to join our faculty in the Department of History at the University of Georgia. The position is wide open in all senses: period, geography, areas of research interest. The deadline is now fast approaching, but there is certainly still time to get in an application. If you have graduate students or post-docs affiliated with the Program in Science, Techniology and Society who might be suitable, I hope that you will encourage them to apply—if, indeed, they have not already.
