Faculty Professor Visiting Teaching Assistant

Visiting Assistant Professor in Cultural Anthropology
The Department of Anthropology at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Cultural Anthropology beginning in Fall 2023. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Anthropology or a related field in hand at the time of application.
We seek an individual with research and teaching expertise that will complement the existing strengths of the program, including but not limited to (Medical Anthropology, STS, Health and Environment;  Labor Precarity, Politics; Mobility, Migration, and Citizenship; Language, Media, and Circulation; Crisis and Futures<https://www.anthropology.pitt.edu/research/social-cultural-anthropology>. Geographic areas of expertise are open. The successful candidate will teach two courses per semester. This will likely include Introduction to Cultural Anthropology and Field Methods and an upper-level undergraduate/graduate course in their area of expertise.
The online application must include a cover letter that discusses the candidate’s research expertise teaching experience and pedagogical approaches. The application must also include a CV, diversity statement, two recent syllabi, course evaluations, and names/email addresses of three references. Reference letters are not required with the initial application. To receive full consideration, applications should be received by May 20, 2023, but applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled.
