Hi Karen,

This is a bit of a short turnaround (deadline March 1), but would you mind circulating this job ad for a 1 year postdoc at Yale on critical humanistic approaches to Big Data?

Thanks!
Lisa

Yale University seeks to appoint a postdoctoral fellow with research expertise in critical humanities approaches to big data, with an emphasis on comparative historical perspectives on the organization of knowledge. Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant discipline, such as art history, history, history of science, literature, or philosophy. The fellow will join a cross-disciplinary team of faculty and students taking part in a year-long series of events supported by a grant from the Mellon Foundation (for more information on the series, please visit https://news.yale.edu/2018/10/24/order-multitudes-mellon-foundation-funds-new-yale-sawyer-seminar). Additional experience working in and/or teaching with special collections, data visualization, digital humanities, or other cross-disciplinary projects is desirable. Fellowship responsibilities include teaching one course per semester, coordinating events and project management. This is a one-year appointment, beginning July 1, 2020 and ending June 30, 2021; applicants must have completed all PhD requirements before July 1, 2020. To apply, please send a cover letter, brief research statement, brief description of a course or courses that might be taught at Yale, CV, writing sample (no more than 20 pages), and the names and email addresses of three references. Applications should be sent to maryjane.stevens at yale.edu<mailto:maryjane.stevens at yale.edu>. Preliminary deadline 1 March 2020; applications will be given consideration on a rolling basis thereafter until the position is filled.
