The Department of Science & Technology Studies at Cornell University invites applications for a visiting position.  We are particularly interested in applicants in the areas of environment, public health, and/or the life sciences. Specific teaching needs include one first-year writing seminar and one small undergraduate lecture course in “science, technology, and policy.” Other teaching possibilities include a senior seminar or another undergraduate course based on the individual’s interests.  This position may be a visiting assistant professor, visiting senior lecturer, visiting lecturer, or postdoctoral associate.  Title will be commensurate with experience.  This appointment is for one-year with a possibility for renewal for an additional year but contingent upon availability, satisfactory performance and funding.

A Masters is required; Ph.D. is preferred in science & technology studies or a closely related field, such as anthropology, history or sociology of science, technology, or medicine.  The successful candidate should also have demonstrated teaching ability.
