Lecturer Position:
Fall 2016 or Spring 2017

The Department of Anthropology at Brandeis University seeks to hire a part-time Lecturer to teach one course directed to both undergraduate and graduate students in either the fall of 2016 or spring of 2017. The salary for one course would be $6,700.

We would like the course to focus on race in anthropological or archaeological perspective. The course could be a general one on the Anthropology of Race and Ethnicity, or it could focus on one or more topics of the candidate’s choosing related to race and difference, such as media, art, language, politics, policing, activism, colonialism and postcoloniality, gender and sexuality, whiteness, energy/resources, religion, or science and technology studies.

Candidates must have previous teaching experience and PhD or ABD status at the time of employment. Interested individuals should send the following in electronic format:  a cover letter, description or syllabus of course suggestions, CV, and names and email contact information for two references to Laurel Carpenter at lcarpent at brandeis.edu<mailto:lcarpent at brandeis.edu>.
