The Communication, Culture & Technology (CCT) Masters Program at Georgetown University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor starting fall 2013.


Global Perspectives on Technology Policy. Applications due 15 October 2012.

Candidates' research and teaching should deal with globalization and technology policy. Areas of specialization may include, but are not limited to, governance in international frameworks, global deliberations, diplomacy, development, and international law and treaties. Applicants should have a solid record of scholarly publication and teaching. They should be prepared to advise students on their academic program and to mentor MA thesis projects.  


Cultural History and Communication Technology. Applications due 15 November 2012.

Candidates' research and teaching should address the relationship between cultural history and new communication technology. Areas of specialization include, but are not limited to, critical studies of media technologies (including cinema, television, video, publishing and print culture, electronic communication), language analysis, material culture, race, class, sex/gender and national identity. Applicants should have a solid record of scholarly publication and teaching. They should be prepared to advise students on their academic program and to mentor MA thesis projects.

 

CCT is an interdisciplinary program focusing on the ways new technologies of communication and digital media are reshaping human experience on all levels, from local to global, and how these technologies are redefining the practices of science, research, education, government, media, business, and culture and the arts. Faculty members are expected to contribute broadly to the interdisciplinary research and teaching of the program.
