The Department of History at the University of Houston invites
applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the field
of Energy/Environmental History, a non-U.S. geographic concentration
preferred. We especially seek candidates whose work intersects and
complements existing departmental strengths in the further development
of our doctoral/graduate and undergraduate programs in
Energy/Environmental History. The candidate must have completed the
Ph.D. by the time of appointment in 2013. To apply, please send a
letter of application, c.v., and three letters of recommendation to
Professor Martin Melosi, Chair, Energy/Environmental Search Committee,
University of Houston, Department of History, 524 Agnes Arnold Hall,
Houston, Texas 77204-3003. The Search Committee will begin considering
applications on December 1, 2012, and all materials must be received
