In addition to developing undergraduate courses that critically examine religion’s role in the cultural, historical, social and political landscape of the United States, the ideal candidate will specialize in an aspect of Religion in America such as African-American religious traditions; Latino/Latina religious traditions; novel American religious movements; religion and politics; religion and spirituality in American public life; the transnational migration of religious identities and traditions.
