Using INet: New Resource for Internship Seekers!
MIT has partnered with several select universities to form an Internship
Consortium called iNET. This new service is powered by Sympicity, and students
can register now at http://inet-csm.symplicity.com. Internship postings will

The Office of the Mayor of the City of Chicago is in the process of recruiting
graduate students for its 2008 Fellowship Program. The Mayor's Office
Fellowship Program is a wonderful opportunity for currently enrolled, graduate
students who are interested in local government and public policy. Participants
have the opportunity to get a broad overview of municipal government, as well as
unique, hands-on experience in the development of new policy and program
initiatives. Participants research policies and evaluate their potential
benefit to Chicago, draft memoranda for senior staff on upcoming issues and new
initiatives, and participate in a variety of special events that provide a
unique insight into how City government operates.

Selection Process:
Completed applications for participation in the summer session (June 9, 2008
through August 22, 2008) must be postmarked no later than FEBRUARY 15, 2008.
Completed applications for participation in the academic year session (August
25, 2008 through June 5, 2009) must be postmarked no later than AUGUST 15,
2008. Applications received after each deadline will be automatically
considered for the next session. Applications will be screened for eligibility
and qualifications. Applicants will be selected for interviews and based upon
the results of the interview process; a final selection of fellows will be
made.
Candidates are selected on a nationwide basis from public and private colleges
and universities. Candidates must be current students with a minimum GPA of 3.0
on a 4.0 scale. Fellows are not classified as full-time employees. Residency in
the City of Chicago is required prior to beginning the fellowship program.
Relocation is at the applicant?s expense. Fellows are paid at a rate of $20
per hour.

Internship Description:
? Financial Analysis: Analyze and underwrite potential acquisition and
development opportunities to include cash flow modeling, property valuations,
investment analysis (IRRs, sensitivity tables, etc.), and joint venture
structuring
? Due Diligence: Support the transaction due diligence and closing processes.
? Market Research: Support acquisition team in researching investment
districts and other market data.
? Asset Management: Support asset management functions and oversight of
existing portfolio investments.
Qualifications: We seek a self-motivated, hard-working individual with excellent

The Democracy: A Journal of Ideas internship is a highly selective program for a
small number of the most talented, progressive college writers, editors, and
thinkers in America. While demanding and time intensive, it is geared toward
giving college students a link into future careers in the world of progressive
ideas. Interns will assist in administrative tasks as well as learn about all
the parts of putting a journal together from article selection to copyediting
and fact-checking. They should be interested in deepening their exposure to a
wide range of policy issues and interacting with some of the most cutting-edge
progressive thinkers across a variety of fields. Excellent research and writing
skills are a must.
Applicants should have distinguished themselves in their academic work thus far.
The internship is based in Washington, DC. Interns will receive a monthly
