The League of Young Voters is looking for a few super talented interns to work
with our New York City National Operations staff in the Summer and
beyooooooooond
(or just the Summer, we're flexible!)
The League is a national organization run by young people who want to help our
peers build power and solve the problems in our communities. We engage young
people who have been shut out of the political process to make politics fun,
relevant, and meaningful. We kick it like The Three Musketeers, meaning any

together.
Our work includes:
-Voter registration and mobilization, especially among "unlikely" voters
-Local, state, and federal level Issue advocacy
-Electoral organizing training and leadership development
-Bridging the divide between community and youth organizing and electoral
politics.
We currently have five permanent field offices on the ground in CA, NM, WI, PA,
and ME. Our headquarters is in DUMBO, Brooklyn, NY.
The League's operations intern will work directly with the NYC Operations staff.
As the headquarters for National Operations, you'll be involved in
organization-wide decision making and have a chance to learn about each of our
field offices and help us prepare for the 2008 electoral energy explosion, say
it 5 times fast.
You can learn more about the League at: http://www.theleague.com

and strategic planning.
*The League of Young Voters Education Fund (LYVEF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit
organization engaging young people under 35 in the democratic process through
voter education, trainings, leadership development, and by providing support to
existing youth, cultural and student organizations to include voter organizing
in their work.
**The League of Young Voters (LYV) is a 501(c)4 advocacy organization for young
people under 35 to build a progressive governing majority in our lifetime. We
develop leaders and build political power to create public policies which
reflect our core values: family, community, inclusion, freedom, equality,
sustainable jobs and peace.
Application instructions:
To apply, send a statement of interest and resume to operations at indyvoter.org
with ?internship? in the subject line. Sincerity is better than style, or
length; just be yourself and take a break from the absurdity of the usual
job-application process.
No phone calls or faxes, please.
