MIT OpenCourseWare (MIT OCW), available online at http://ocw.mit.edu,
makes the MIT Faculty's course materials used in the teaching of almost
all of MIT's undergraduate and graduate subjects available on the Web,
free of charge, to any user anywhere in the world. MIT OCW can be
considered a large-scale, Web-based publication of educational
materials, but more than a publishing initiative, MIT OCW is an endeavor
that is already contributing to the democratization of education and
knowledge around the world. Educators in the U.S. and the developing
world utilize the materials for curriculum development, while students
and self-learners around the globe draw upon the materials for
self-study or supplementary use. With 1264 courses now available, MIT
OCW is delivering on the promise of open sharing of knowledge. As a

Position
Description: Department Liaison, MIT OpenCourseWare
Department Liaisons support the publication of materials from MIT's
various departments, as well as building and maintaining relationships
across the Institute. They assist faculty with the development or
compilation of course materials for MIT OCW. This may include
development of new materials for teaching purposes, by working with the
faculty in classes to create content. It may also involve creating
materials for use in digital learning systems such as Stellar or
SloanSpace. For courses already in electronic form, this position will
require the collection and assembly of any materials that are input into
the MIT OCW production process, along with the research of citations and
ownership for copyrighted objects. Department Liaisons serve as a key
link throughout the course site production process between MIT faculty
and MIT OCW. The position also entails other work, such as the design
and implementation of special projects, file organization, site design
and creation, and quality assurance. This is a renewable one-year
position, July 2006 to June 2007, with the possibility of extension. The
salary begins at $40,000.
Requirements
A familiarity with the subject matter in any MIT department, a knowledge
of that department's curriculum, and experience working with faculty; an
aptitude for specific technologies used in MIT teaching (Stellar,
SloanSpace); knowledge of Web-authoring technology and standard desktop
applications; knowledge of other software preferred, such as Latex,
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe PDF, Macromedia Dreamweaver, etc. Experience with
complex project management tasks and tools preferred. Good oral and
written communications skills needed. Must manage time to accomplish job
requirements in a professional and timely manner. Must be
well-organized, committed, accurate, thorough, punctual, and show
meticulous attention to detail. Must accept responsibility for
on-schedule task fulfillment and job performance. Seeking a
self-motivated professional who is comfortable with ambiguity in a
diverse organization. MIT degree strongly preferred.

Radio Disney AM1260 Boston is a 24-hour radio station specifically designed for
a young listening audience (kids ages 6-14) with upbeat on-air personalities,
pop music, and tons of contests and prizes. As a syndicated station, one of
over 50 across the country, we are responsible for local marketing, local
on-air spot, and promotions. We do not broadcast from the Boston location. This
is a unique internship, the experience, while a great one, will be much
different than a traditional radio station internship. It is the role of our
interns to assist in the planning and execution of these tasks while living up
to our high Disney standards.
Internships are unpaid. Local applicants only - we do not pay for relocation,

The Washington Center
The Washington Center works with 500 colleges and universities and has over
33,000 alumni in leadership positions throughout the U.S. and other countries.
TWC guarantees all students furnished housing - typically in attractive and
conveniently-located high-rise apartment buildings in Northern Virginia. Over
80% of students receive financial assistance which offsets in whole or part
their tuition and housing costs for the program. The program operates
year-round, with fall and spring semesters and a summer term, as well as
quarter terms.
Position Description: The Washington Center (TWC) offers college and university
students in all major fields substantive internships in fields of their choice,
as well as academic coursework and related activities. Placements are tailored
to students' interests and may be with the governmental, business, nonprofit,
or international organizations. Students typically receive a full semester's or
term's worth of credit from their home institutions - and gain invaluable
real-world work experience that substantially strengthens their chances in the
competition for jobs or graduate and professional school admission.
Requirements:
? Be enrolled in an accredited college or university as a second semester
sophomore or above during the term of your internship. Graduate students
receiving credit are also eligible.
? Maintain a grade point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. If your GPA
is below 2.75 you need a third recommendation letter. Higher GPAs (minimum 3.0)
may be required for federal agencies such as the U.S. Departments of Justice and
State, the U.S. Attorney's Office, and the Cable News Network (CNN).
? Receive academic credit from your college or university for your
participation in the Internship Program. The Washington Center does not grant
academic credit.

Position Description: The Technology Internship offers college students a chance
to participate in a well-structured learning experience and to develop insights

and challenges confronting local governments. Technology Internships enable

The position is located in Washington, DC in the office of a national non-profit
technology research and development organization. The organization offers full
and part-time internships in the fall, spring and summer for motivated students
at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Internships provides as excellent

The Prejudice Institute
ORGANIZATION PROFILE: The Prejudice Institute is a "think tank" which focuses on
all issues of group prejudice, discrimination, hate crimes, ethnoviolence, and
social policy. Our programs encompass race, religion, ethnicity, nationality,
gender, sexual orientation, disability, and deviance. We do policy research on
these issues, publish a bimonthly newsletter, and provide organizational
consultations, seminars, and workshops.
Position Description: Interns have the opportunity to work directly with the
Institute's director, as well as with other interns and our network of
consultants. While the projects vary, internships are 8 to 12 hours on a
flexible schedule. Of that time, one-quarter is asigned to office routines and
three-quarters to research, writing, design, or administrative problems. Here's
a capsule version:
Research--Assist at all levels of ongoing research projects and/or the
initiation of new projects. The research is basically sociological and social
psychological in orientation and applied in perspective. Interns will have the
opportunity to learn about research design, interviewing and questionaire
