Sunday, March 14 Update

I haven't sent any updates lately, since Joe continues to improve  
slowly.  Some folks are a bit worried, so I thought I'd report in.   
The CT scan I mentioned a month ago showed everything proceeding  
normally.  He's put a few pounds back on, is writing every day, is  
riding his bicycle some and is playing with his telescopes, his  
guitar and his watercolors.  Life feels relatively normal around here.

  We're starting to look into all that travel he mentioned a while  
back.  We canceled the Australia trip.  He should be able to go to  
the Hemingway Conference in Lausanne in July, if he continues to feel  
well.  We're heading for the International Conference on the  
Fantastic in the Arts in Orlando this week, our first trip since  
September.  It's only two hours away by car, a good test of how he'll  
hold up.

Spring is springing around here and welcome.  Hope it's the same
