10/17 Sat update

[Joe Haldeman]

Joe's doing well. He sat up in a wheelchair for an hour and we wheeled him around the hospital ward.  He enjoyed looking out at the beautiful leaves and sky.      No therapy on weekends.    He played two hands of 7 card stud and won one (Rusty won the other).  He talked about beauty, love, death, Hemingway, like his old self.  Ate okay, loved some more of the fruit he had yesterday.  Still weak, but progressing.   Tonight we're ordering pizza for the gang, Mike G., Rusty, Brandy, Christina, Frank Johnson & Steve & Denise.
