Hello,

Hope y'all adjust well to the Institute and enjoy (he he he) your classes 
and research! Today is the last session of Grad School 101:

Thursday, September 16;

"What do I do when I get into trouble?").

Graduate Student Volunteer Day V:   DON'T FORGET TO SIGN UP!!
The GSC Orientation Committee is pleased to announce that the fifth annual 
Graduate Student Volunteer Day (GSVD) will be held next Saturday, September 
18, 2004 from 8:30am to 3pm.
GSVD is an annual part of the GSC orientation program that each year brings 
together over 150 graduate students and friends from around campus for a 
one-day community service event. Participants will start and end the day 
together with first breakfast and then a BBQ at Kresge, but the 
volunteering activities are done in smaller groups of 10-15 people each. 
The volunteer sites have been organized by campus student groups at various 
service organizations around Boston and Cambridge. We will be going to many 
of the same sites as last year, plus many others! For example, this year 
we'll be cooking meals, helping clean up beaches and parks, painting 
houses, assisting with charity walks, and much, much more.

PS: in the previous email, we announced the 2nd anniversary of the Muddy... 
The Muddy Charles Pub is 36 years old! It was the anniversary of the 
"Weekly Wednesday" nights! (Thanks to Mike ;)).
