1. OCH Recruitment Dinner
When: Mon, June 10 5:30pm
Where: Please send your application for further details!
Contact: axchen at mit.edu
RSVP: n/a
Description: Are you interested in planning awesome off-campus events and helping build community for off-campus grad students? Want to cross a bunch of things off your Boston-area bucket list with other grad students across MIT at discounted prices?
If yes, you should consider applying to become an OCH (off-campus housing) co-chair! Co-chairs usually work together in a team of 3 people to organize 3 monthly events (of his/her/their own choice!). We estimate that the time commitment is approximately 2-3 hours of logistics (i.e. choosing an event, purchasing tickets, making reservations, emailing attendees, filling out reimbursement forms) a month in addition to the time spent at the event.
Please reply with your application before June 6 5pm so we can send you further details about the dinner.
1. Why are you interested in being an OCH co-chair?
2. What experience do you have with planning event logistics? If you don’t have any direct experience, can you tell us about a related experience with relevant transferable skills?
3. Please tell us about 2-3 ideas you have for OCH events. (Keep in mind that we cannot reimburse alcohol and typically cover up to $15-20 / head for events that usually have 10-15 persons).
4. Have you been to an OCH event before? How was your experience?
5. When are you available to start your OCH co-chair duties, and can you commit for at least one year?
If you are not able to make it to the dinner but are still interested in the position, please email gsc-hca-offcampus-chair at mit.edu to set up an alternate time to chat!
