Hello off-campus people!

Due to the weather last Sunday, we had to postpone the Harbor Islands trip to Spectacle Island. We're going to go this Sunday instead (details below) for Jazz on the Porch so please sign up if you'd like to join and it works with your schedule. The lottery will be used as usual to select who's coming.

Where: Meet at 1 Long Wharf Boston 02110. We'll take the ferry together to Spectacle Island.

Description: Join OCH for a trip to Spectacle Island! Spectacle is one of the greenest Harbor Islands with an incredible view of the city. It's great for hiking and also swimming (if you're feeling adventurous). Never heard of the Harbor Islands before? Well here's your chance to check one out! Bring a picnic and enjoy their weekly Jazz on the Porch event with live music! OCH will cover $10 of the ferry ride so you'll only have to pay $8! Sign up for the lottery to have a chance at being selected.

Meet MIT spouses and partners who have found jobs in the Boston area. This informal conversation will be moderated by the MS&PC Program Manager. Learn about their job search process and their understanding and experience of the American workplace. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and to connect with other job seekers.
The MS&PC Career Connect Conference will be held on Monday October 15. This full day conference will cover a variety of topics led by HR and career professionals, such as crafting a strong resume and cover letter, interviewing, networking, and adapting to the US business culture.

Description: What we do:
The MIT iREFS group is a student group that provides peer support for all graduate students across the Institute.
Our mission is to ensure graduate student wellness, especially in times of uncertainty, stress and conflict.

They are available to have confidential conversations, and can make informed referrals to other resources and offices at MIT.
