[GSC-HCA-Offcampus] Off-campus events

Hi fellow off-campus students,

Kelsey and I have organized a few events for you. See the details below. I
also have 2 questions for you.

1) Are you interested in being off-campus co-chair? Less than 2 hours of
effort per month to have a big impact of off-campus student life (and a
guaranteed spot at events!)

2) How can we foster longer-term connections between graduate students than
the brunches, dinners and outings we organize? Other kinds of events?

1. Off-campus brunch at Christopher’s in Porter Square
When: Saturday, Feb. 16th, 11:30 AM
Where: 1920 Mass Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02140

Description: Bond with your fellow MIT-students-living-off-campus than over
some fantastic brunch in Porter Square. Socialize, discuss off-campus and
safety issues, and plan future events. GSC HCA off-campus will cover up to
$15/person, no alcohol.  Spouses and significant others welcome if included
in RSVP.

NOTE: Attendees will be selected at random*.  You will be notified if you
are selected only. Asking to bring a guest will not affect your odds of
being selected. If you want to be guaranteed to attend, volunteer to
organize an event!

*Matlab is sufficiently random for the Off-Campus Subcommittee.

MIT-students-living-off-campus than over some delicious food – with a hint

3. Graduate Art Soiree – Call for Student Artists!
When: Friday, March 15th, 7:30-10PM
Where:  New Media Lab 6th Floor
Contact:  gsc-arts at mit.edu by March 7th

Description: -  The Third Annual Graduate Art Soiree will be held on March
15th, 2013 on the top floor of the New Media Lab!
-  Student artists, a chance to exhibit your fine art pieces to your fellow
peers is finally here!
-  Dance or music groups, show off your talents by performing at the event!
-  Art of all types, shapes, sizes, and forms are welcome: Architectural
models, Toy Lab projects, DNA structures, You Name It!
-  Great exposure of your work to the MIT community!
