Hi Off-Campus Grads,
I hope you have been enjoying IAP. Here are a few events upcoming around
campus. Make sure to check out the Ivy+ Fine Spirits Showcase, its sure
to be a good time.
Now is also a great time to propose off-campus events you would like to

1. Ivy+ Fine Spirits Showcase
An event that has been a year in the making.
An event that has never happened before.
An event that should not be missed.
This extraordinary event will feature over 200 of the world's finest
distilled spirits - Scotch whisky, Irish whiskey, bourbon, cognac,
tequila, rum, and more - for you to taste at your leisure.
The first-ever Ivy+ Fine Spirits Showcase is open to alumni, faculty,
postdocs, and graduate students of the Ivy+ universities (Ivy League
plus MIT, Stanford, UChicago, and Duke). Tell your friends. Bring your

2. Ashdown Brunch
WHERE: Hulsizer room
WHEN: Jan 23 NOON-1 pm
We are holding the first Ashdown brunch of 2011 on Sunday Jan 23. We
will start serving at noon in the Hulsizer room. There will be plenty of
hot food, fresh fruit and drinks. It is also a great opportunity to see
your friends and colleagues after the holidays.
As always we request that you bring your own utensils and plates and
help us cut down on the waste. You will be automatically entered into a
raffle to win a Tosci's gift card.

4. Nobel Laureate Peter Diamond discusses 'Search Frictions,
Unemployment, and Vacancies'
When: Wednesday Feb 2. 6pm-9pm
Where: SP MP Room (NW86)
Why are so many people unemployed at the same time that there are a
large number of job openings? How can economic policy affect unemployment?
2010 Nobel Laureates in Economics have developed a theory which can be
used to answer these questions. In a fascinating lecture sponsored by
the Society of Presidential Fellows, MIT Professor Peter Diamond, one of
the Laureates, explains Search Theory and the foundations of search markets.
In this seminar part of the CoSI Lecture Series, Peter Diamond, 2010
Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences will give a lecture and proceed to a
discussion from 6-7pm (open to everyone). This will be followed by a
free Dinner at the Housemasters' apartment 7-9pm (35 spots reserved by
lottery).
