Hey Off-Campus Grads,
Here are some upcoming events happening around campus. There are a few 
Pi Day events and then make sure to get out and experience St. Patrick's 
day in Boston. There's a St. Patrick's day parade over in Boston this 
Sunday and Ashdown is having a festival in the evening on Wednesday.

On Pi Day (3/14) there will be a fun run around MIT of approximately Pi 
miles (nearly 5k).
Successful completion of the run earns you FREE PIE!

The modest registration of $15.92 supports the soup kitchen, Faith 
Kitchen. Register online by 3/9 at faithcambridge.org/pirun to get a 
bandana. Late registrants are welcome, but won't receive a bandana.

If you would like to donate a pie to this wonderful cause send an email 
to Tim Seitz at tseitz at mit.edu.
If you would like to volunteer and help participants stay on course and 
serve pie –FREE PIE for you!

2. Ashdown House presents our third annual Pi Day celebration, this Sunday!

DESSERT night with over 10000* types of pies to choose from Pi 
RECITATION CONTEST with prizes of $50/20/10 in gift certificates
Sunday, 3/14 @ 9:00p to 10:00p
Ashdown House Hulsizer Room

Please bring plates and utensils to reduce waste. So please start 
memorising the digits of Pi (in decimal)! There are plenty of resources 
for this online. And if you don't feel like memorising, come at least 
for the FREE dessert!

3. Alumni Dinner Series

- The Alumni Dinner Series provides an informal opportunity to hear from 
and network with local MIT alumni
- Enjoy a delicious catered dinner from "Blue Ribbon BBQ"
- Tickets for the dinner only cost $2 for MIT graduate students and up 
to one guest
- There are no refunds if you cancel and/or do not show up, and food is 
not guaranteed after 6:30 PM.

4. St. Patrick's Festival
Date and Time: Wednesday, March 17th, from 7-9pm
Location: Ashdown House, Hulsizer Room and Thirsty Ear
Event description:
Come partake in music, food, and activities to celebrate Irish heritage 
and the traditions of St. Patrick's Day! We will have a musical group 
performance, potato carving competition, "pot-o-gold" (chocolate coins) 
counting competition, and much more!

FREE traditional Irish cuisine and snacks will be provided! Drinks will 
be available for purchase from the Thirsty Ear Pub (ID Required).

5. Single malt Scotch whisky tasting two-session seminar

6. The Parking and Transportation Office will once again provide shuttle 
service to Logan Airport for the Spring Break. Shuttles will be 
available on Friday, March 19 and Saturday, March 20. Advance 
reservations are required. Please visit the Parking and
Transportation Office web site 
http://web.mit.edu/facilities/transportation/shuttles/airport.html for 
details and shuttle availability. All reservations will be processed via 
the web site and the shuttle fee of $10.00 will be billed to a student 
bursar accounts or via employee payroll deductions.

Shuttles will depart from the Kresge parking lot at the scheduled time, 
and will not wait for late arriving passengers. Normal trip
time from MIT to Logan Airport is about a half-hour, but please allow up 
to one hour for this trip. Traffic, construction and Airport Security 
delays should be expected.

Graduate Women of MIT this spring!
