Hi Off-Campus Grads,

I hope you are enjoying the end of summer and starting to get excited 
for the upcoming term. The off-campus subcommittee will be holding a 
dinner next Monday at Redbones BBQ in Davis Square. Be sure to RSVP 
quickly if you would like to attend. Redbones is a favorite of many 
students at MIT, so spaces will go fast.

Note: RSVP required; meals partially subsidized by the GSC Off-Campus

We'll be having an off-campus dinner at Redbones BBQ in Davis Square! 
Redbones offers authentic downhome-style Southern food which draws 
hungry people from all around. MIT off-campus grad students can attend 
and bring up to one guest by RSVP'ing (see below). Meals will be 
partially subsidized by the GSC Off-campus Subcommittee.

RSVP soon if you would like to attend. The event is open to all graduate 
students living off-campus as well as their spouse/partner and family. 
Off-campus grads may bring one guest.

2. Join us at an outdoor, nighttime celebration of the Perseid meteor 
shower and the close of summer in Edgerton’s courtyard.

Enjoy s'mores, snacks, desserts, and summer drinks (including mulled 
wine, so bring ID) with friends before the semester begins. The Edgerton 
courtyard barbecue pits will be turned into bonfires to roast 
marshmallows and late at night hopefully we’ll get a good view of the 
night sky and the tail end of the Perseid meteor shower.

Open to all graduate students.
Sponsored by the Edgerton House Association and the GSC Funding Board.

3. Ashdown will be having a yard sale on Saturday August 28th from 2-5 
pm. We are in special need of sellers. Any student can reserve a table 
to sell their things by emailing Amanda Zangari (azangari at mit.edu) by 
noon on Friday, August 27th. Please spread the word to your constituencies.

4. Here at Ashdown we are gearing up for the next brunch on August 29. 
The upcoming
brunch is the Orientation brunch. There will be tons more food and a 
special ice
cream sundae bar.

This will be a great chance to meet the incoming class, mingle with your 
friends
and eat some great food from 12:00=2:00pm in the Hulsizer room.

We would greatly appreciate anyone who can volunteer and help us with 
the large
amount of cooking and cleaning that this brunch will entail. We have a very
special surprise for those of you who will come and help us out.

Also remember to bring your own utensils and plates and enter in the 
raffle for
the Toscanini's gift cards.
