Hi Off-Campus Grads,
Thank you to everyone that came to the off-campus lunch this week, we
had a good turnout and got some nice feedback about how we can better
represent you. Our next event is a tour of the Harpoon Brewery. Make
sure to join, it is pretty impressive to see.

1. Harpoon Brewery Tour!!!
Saturday, May 9
Meet at Inbound Kendall T station at 11:30am (upstairs/outside if good
weather, down by the gates if poor weather).
Off-campus is planning a trip to the Harpoon Brewery in Boston. We will
meet at the Kendall T stop. Join other off-campus grads for this fun
tour. Transportation and tour fee will be fully-subsidized. No RSVP
necessary, but make sure to bring an age ID if you would like to sample.
This even is open to all off-campus graduates and their
spouses/partners. All others are welcome to join, but will not be

2. What: La Fete (semiformal swing band & DJ dance party)
When: 7pm - 1am, Saturday, May 2
Where: Edgerton House (143 Albany St)
Tickets: $5, purchase at http://sao.mit.edu/tickets/2009/la-fete
This year, Edgerton House is bringing back La Fete, a semiformal dance
that is hosted in our courtyard the first week of May. Come socialize
under the cherry blossoms and try yourself in two types of dancing.
The main part of the event features a live 6-piece professional swing
band that will make sure to keep your legs moving with its energetic
music. After the band leaves, a DJ will change the music tempo for a
different type of dancing.
Swing dance lessons will be available one hour prior to the event. Food,
refreshments and a cash bar will be provided (bring 21+ ID to drink).
Schedule:
6-7pm: Swing dance lessons
7-10pm: Swing band and dancing
7pm: Food available
10pm-1am: DJ dance party

3. Dinner at Six -- Free dinner with Faculty!
5:45p - 7:00p Tuesday, May 12th
W11, Small Dining Room
This monthly dinner is an opportunity to have casual conversations with
many of your favorite MIT faculty. The dinner is FREE, and runs only an
hr long. RSVP to dinner-at-six at mit.edu is necessary as space is limited
(which also means that if you RSVP you MUST show up!).

4. Applications for MIT Career Fair 2009 GSC Director Position
Recruiting for MIT Career Fair 2009 Directors
Application deadline extended
The MIT Career Fair Executive Committee is currently recruiting for
directors to organize the 2009 MIT Career Fair. MIT Career Fair is the
largest recruiting event on MIT campus, attracting over 300 companies
and 5000 students every year.
As a GSC Career Fair Director, you will be collaborating with
representatives from the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and Class of
2010 to put on the largest career fair of the year. This is a tremendous
leadership opportunity where you will help the entire campus in securing
jobs and internships. You will gain invaluable organizational experience
in addition to recruiting contacts across all industries.
Note: This position requires commitment during the summer of 2009
(preference given to applicants spending the summer in Boston)
