Hi Off-Campus Grads,
There is an off-campus meeting this Thursday, 6-7pm in 50-220. Please 
attend to help decide what events we will have this term and to enjoy a 
free dinner.

1) Off-Campus Meeting
Thursday, Oct 2, 6-7pm
GSC Office (50-220)
Free (non-pizza) dinner!

Come join other off-campus grads to plan out activities for the fall
term. In the past, activities have included bowling, brewery tours,
holiday parties, and dining events to name a few. Have an idea for a new
event, please bring them to the meeting. As always, a free, non-pizza
dinner will be provided.

Please RSVP to jtc at mit.edu by noon Thursday if you plan to attend to 
ensure plenty of food for all. Remember, this is your money, so come 
share how you want it spent.

2) Graduate Ring Premiere
Come see the unveiling of the new graduate ring design on October 1 from 
7 to 10pm in Walker! Enjoy free food and beverages (21+ age ID 
required), a Brazilian percussion band, giveaways, T-shirts, and a 
raffle for free rings. Poster can be seen at

The Grad Rat committee also needs help checking IDs, managing the crowd, 
etc. If you'd like to volunteer, please email shahriar at mit.edu. 
Volunteer shifts are flexible.

3) Do you love Halloween? Enjoy seeing a child's face light up?

Volunteer for HallowMIT 2008 - a children's Halloween festival for graduate
students and their families! Saturday, October 25th from 3pm to 6pm on 
Stata Student Street.

Volunteers will work with carnival games, food set-up, performers, and 
general
merriment!
