Have you ever had one of those conversations, where you walked away thinking
that the other person "just didn't get it"? Would you like a concrete,
step-by-step approach to preparing for and conducting your most challenging
conversations? If so, sign up today for the 'Difficult Conversations'
workshop! As pre-work for this workshop you will receive a copy of the book
entitled 'Difficult Conversations' by Stone, Patton & Heen. The content of
this book is based on fifteen years of research at the Harvard Negotiation
Project. The session will be facilitated by an experienced Harvard
facilitator.
During the book group, we will discuss the book's content and practice the
recommendations on how to have those tough conversations. In this workshop
you will learn:
* how to start the conversation without defensiveness
* ways of keeping and regaining your balance in the face of attacks
and accusations
* how to decipher the underlying structure of every difficult
conversation
The workshop will take place in the Eastgate penthouse lounge from 6:30 -
8:30 pm on the following dates:
* Thursday February 21
* Thursday February 28
* Thursday March 6
Participants are required to attend all three sessions. Dinner will be
provided. Space in this workshop is limited; submit
<https://survey.vt.edu/survey/entry.jsp?id=1200675878474> your application
